Yes, that happens a lot not only with books but movies and music as well. There are things that can’t be translated or lose their meaning when translated.

Learning a second language also helps exercise our brain, whether it is French, Spanish, or any other language.

I agree with you. We just love the way it sounds, so elegant and sophisticated. No wonder it was the most important language in Europe for many years. All the kings and nobles spoke it proficiently.

I remember reading that, too. A lot of English words come from French. How amazing is that!
