Yes, many French words are used in English although pronounced incorrectly. Been there, done that.

I agree with your first few tips about learning the alphabet, vocabulary, and the conjugation of verbs. It’s pretty common for French words to sneak into our daily lives, and being able to pronounce them correctly can save a lot of embarrassment. I once heard a friend order a “cafe oww late” when he saw “cafe au lait” on a menu. Ouf!
