Yes, there are many rules, and some sounds are hard to pronounce like the r.

Thanks for sharing the video on the French pronunciation! I used to take French as an extra credit when I was in college and it is getting rusty but I still can sing the French alphabet song ;) The R sounds is definitely a challenge for me, like it is impossible for me to say the proper pronunciation for a glass of Merlot lol Definitely gonna have to listen to all the videos and repeat after them until I get it. Like a parrot. lol

I speak a little bit of French, maybe not enough to maintain a fluid conversation, but I can understand it. While I was learning I was amazed by how hard it is to pronounce it (or at least it was for me, an native Spanish speaker) and by the enormous amount of rules to avoid other rules. I still love it, I would like to speak way more languages than the ones I do, unfortunately, I do not have time to study some more.
