Yes and no. It depends on how much time you dedicate to it. One year is a reasonable time to learn a language, but we have to work hard for it.

Learning a new language would be fun. I agree that listening and speaking go hand-in-hand to learning a language successfully. I never successfully took a language class when I was in school. In one class, we were trying to learn a language but had no books, another language class I was in, I was in a level II class and I was a level I student. So that was not a successful experience either.

I think it would be fun to be in a small class and learn the basics, gradually adding more and more to it. I have heard it takes years to become fluent in a language.

Hey thanks a bunch for this post!

I've always wanted to learn a new language, at the moment I have grasped the basics of Spanish but french as well as Swedish is too on my list to learn. I could use these learning techniques in the current language or future languages I want to learn. I have already downloaded Duolingo and it's going great!
